Overview
LinkedIn Feed Search by SOLED ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users search through their LinkedIn feed posts. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Post content (author names, titles, and text) from your LinkedIn feed
- Timestamps of when posts were indexed
- Your search queries and preferences (date range filters)
Important: All indexed post data is stored locally in your Chrome browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any servers.
No Personal Information Collection
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- Your LinkedIn login credentials
- Your LinkedIn profile information
- Your personal contact information
- Your browsing history outside of LinkedIn
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
Optional Analytics (If Enabled)
If analytics are enabled in future versions, we may collect anonymous usage statistics:
- Number of searches performed
- Features used (e.g., date filters, View All button)
- Extension performance metrics
- Error reports
These analytics are anonymous and cannot be linked to individual users.
How We Use Information
The Extension uses collected data solely to:
- Index LinkedIn posts - Store posts you scroll through for later searching
- Enable search functionality - Allow you to search through your indexed posts
- Provide filtering - Filter results by date ranges and keywords
- Improve user experience - Maintain your preferences between sessions
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage Only: All data is stored in Chrome's local storage on your device
- No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud servers
- User Control: You can clear all indexed data at any time using the "Clear Index" button
- Automatic Deletion: If you uninstall the Extension, all stored data is automatically deleted

LinkedIn
The Extension operates on LinkedIn.com and reads content from pages you visit. We do not have a partnership with LinkedIn, and this Extension is not endorsed by LinkedIn Corporation.
No Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties.
Your rights and Controls
You have complete control over your data.
- View: See how many posts are indexed via the stats display
- Delete: Click "Clear Index" to delete all indexed posts immediately
- Control: Choose which posts to index by controlling what you scroll through
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the Extension removes all stored data
Data Retention
- Data is retained locally until you clear the index or uninstall the Extension
- No data is retained on external servers
- You control data retention through the Extension interface
Your Rights and Controls
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Posting the new policy in the Chrome Web Store listing
- Including update notes in the Extension's release notes
Permissions Explained
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage: To save indexed posts and preferences locally
- activeTab: To access content on the LinkedIn page you're viewing
- https://www.linkedin.com/*: To run on LinkedIn pages only
